Seasonal lighting changes

It's true that the light changes according to the time of day which is also greatly affected by the season we're in. Sometimes your staff might need to adjust the blinds or add in additional lighting so they can work more comfortably. At home this is also true - we close the curtains to block out the sun's glare and we use way more lights during the shorter days. So maybe the solution is in creating artificial light that levels out across the changes thrown at us by nature?

We should consider the different times of year, the length of the days and the slant of the light. We also need to factor in the surfaces and areas around us for their natural glare and reflectiveness. Sensors are perfect for relaying the actual conditions and turning lights on and off accordingly. This is useful if you work in a large area where manual control could prove to be onerous.

You can add in sensors that manage light requirements only where there are people - making it cost-effective as well. Managing shade is also something that can be incorporated into your solutions - automatically altering blind positions to work with workers' requirements.

It's important that any type of light management combines the best of natural and artificial light to create an effective, productive, relaxing environment.
