Light has come of age and, through smart lighting, there are now lots of new options for lighting up your home or workplace.
Smart lighting means that lighting does more than turn on and off at the wall. You can change colour, operate it from anywhere in the world, set up a timetable and activate it by voice alone. There are some smart light options that are even portable, table lamp versions and also bulbs that double up as a speaker. Clever! Smart.
Some systems need just a smartphone to work whilst others require a hub (like Amazon Echo or similar). With the advent of these affordable, high street solutions, some of the mystique has been removed from the seemingly hi-tech nature of sophisticated lighting schemes. It appears that across the ranges available, smart lights average at 800 lumens (around 60 watts) but they do vary.
